Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed)

The Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) is a two-year professional teacher training program designed to prepare skilled educators for primary and upper-primary levels. This course focuses on developing teaching competencies, child psychology understanding, and modern classroom practices for students aged 6 to 15 years.

🎓 Eligibility Criteria for Admission (D.El.Ed)

A. Nationality

  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen.

B. Local Status

  • Candidates must satisfy Local / Non-Local status requirements as per the Telangana Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions) Order, 1974 (as amended).

C. Entrance Exam Requirement

  • Candidates must qualify in TG DEECET – 2026.
  • Minimum qualifying marks:
    • OC / BC: 35% marks
    • SC / ST: No minimum qualifying marks for reserved seats
  • However, SC/ST candidates must secure 35% marks for consideration under OC / NCC / Defence / Sports categories.
  • Candidates appearing for Intermediate (or equivalent) exams in 2026 are also eligible to apply.

D. Educational Qualifications

  • Candidates must have passed or appeared for Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent.
  • Final qualification must be completed at the time of admission.

Minimum Marks:

  • General Category: 50% aggregate
  • SC / ST / PwD: 45% aggregate

Language Requirement:

  • Must have studied Telugu / Urdu as:
    • Medium at SSC / Intermediate, OR
    • First language at SSC, OR
    • Second language at Intermediate

Eligibility Notes:

  • ✅ Eligible:
    • Candidates from TG Open School / National Open School
    • Rajiv Gandhi IIIT students
  • ❌ Not Eligible:
    • Polytechnic candidates
    • Urdu Fazil certificate holders
    • Candidates with only a single language qualification

E. Reservations

  • Defence Personnel & Families: 2%
  • NCC Candidates: 0.5%
  • Scouts & Guides (Rashtrapati Awardees): 0.5%
  • Sports Quota: As per Government norms
  • PwD Candidates: 5% (with valid certification)

F. Age Limit

  • Minimum age: 17 years as on 1st September of the admission year
  • No upper age limit
